I used to tour the west coast and midwest with a band named Rising Lion. Rising Lion was a great bunch of guys and I always had a great time playing music with them.

One weekend, we were playing a gig in Park City Utah. It is a very cool town and it was very interesting to walk around in their very scenic downtown area.

We were playing one night in a club on Main Street. Danny Dread, our leader, happened to be talking to a guy and his girlfriend.  At the time, we were going to rent hotel rooms after the gig, but they persuaded Danny to let the band stay in their house instead.  This was something that was very commonplace, as people could be very hospitable after several drinks and a night of dancing :)

After the show, around 3am, the band was waiting out side of the club in the van.  We were pretty close to the front door, which had the old school stairs leading up to a set of double doors.  A light snow had been falling and about an inch was on the ground, and the band was hungry and tired. We awaited our host..

“Where the hell is this guy!?”, Kiki our keyboardist suddenly said out loud.  No sooner did he say this, than the doors of the club burst open with a loud, BLA-BLAM!. Out flies our host, horizontally, and lands face and hands first in the snow. He slid a few feet to a comfortable stop.

The van was completely silent for a moment.  Then Lion, our bass player screams in a very heavy southern accent, “Oh, man! I thought The Predator was after him!!!”

The uncontrollable laughter to follow lasted a while.  Then teary eyed, we all exited the van and helped our host up and back to his cabin.

Much to our relief, the Predator never did arrive.
